Anchorage rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In Anchorage, a trailer, pole trailer, semitrailer or tractor-trailer combination may not be parked on any street for longer than two hours at a time.
In Anchorage, municipal code limits trailers on any street to two hours at a time, and bars a commercial vehicle with more than two axles, or a vehicle or trailer combination with a GVWR of 10,000 pounds or more, from parking on residential-district streets unless an exception applies, such as a written traffic engineer permit. Any vehicle can stay on a street for at most 24 hours, except from Friday noon to Monday noon. In winter, signed snow-removal no-parking hours apply, parking in the middle of a cul-de-sac is illegal and can lead to a citation or tow during plowing, and residential streets are plowed within 84 hours of a declared Plow Out.
