What the crew handles

  • Unloading the truck, trailer or container and carrying items inside
  • Placing boxes in labeled rooms and furniture where you direct
  • Removing furniture pads and wrapping as items come off
  • Reassembling beds and tables that were taken apart, when agreed in advance

What you arrange

  • The truck or container, parked at the new address when the crew arrives
  • Keys, access codes and building approval for the move-in
  • Any elevator reservation or loading-dock booking
  • A floor plan or room labels so things go to the right place

Who it's for

  • People who drove a rental truck across town or across the country and need help at the new home
  • Anyone whose portable container has been delivered to the new home
  • People who loaded with friends but want help carrying everything up stairs or into an apartment

What gets confirmed before your move

These details change how long the job takes. We agree on them in writing before we schedule a crew.

  • When the truck or container will arrive. Long drives often run late.
  • Parking at the new address and any permit or loading-zone rules
  • Stairs, elevators and the building's move-in hours
  • Which items need reassembly and whether hardware was bagged and labeled

How to prepare

  • Label every box with its destination room, ideally on two sides
  • Tape a simple sign on each room door that matches your box labels
  • Decide where large furniture goes before the crew starts carrying it in
  • Protect floors and door frames if your building requires it
  • Keep a path clear from the truck to the door

Equipment and materials

You provide

  • The truck or container, unlocked and accessible
  • Keys, gate codes and elevator keys for the new building
  • Floor protection if your building or lease requires it

Confirm when you book

  • Whether the crew brings a hand truck and furniture pads
  • Whether reassembly tools are included
  • How packing debris and pads are handled at the end

What affects time and price

Labor is priced by time and crew size. We haven't published rates, minimums or fees yet. This list shows what changes the number of hours.

  • How the truck was packedA well-built load comes off quickly. Shifted or overstuffed loads take longer.
  • Stairs and elevatorsUpper-floor apartments without an elevator take the most time.
  • Carry distanceLoading docks and long hallways add time to every trip.
  • ReassemblyBeds, desks and shelving take time to put back together.
  • Arrival timingA truck arriving after the agreed time may affect scheduling and cost. Confirm the terms when you book.

Specialty and heavy items

Heavy appliances, safes, pianos and fitness equipment often need a specific plan for stairs and doorways at the new address. Flag them in the planner before move day.

We check pianos, safes, gym equipment, pool tables, hot tubs and anything over about 300 lb one at a time. Some may need a specialist.

Questions about unloading

Is the crew that unloads the same crew that loaded?

Not always. If the two addresses are far apart, each address is a separate appointment, and the crews may differ. Plan both addresses in the planner.

My truck may arrive late. What happens?

Long drives are hard to time. Tell us when you expect to arrive. The booking terms explain late arrivals and rescheduling. You see them before you confirm.

Will the crew unpack my boxes?

No. Unloading means carrying items in and putting them in place. Unpacking boxes is a separate task. Add it to your notes if you need it.

Need help with unloading?

Tell us about your move. We'll show how many helpers you need and for how long. Then send a request. We'll email you to confirm the time and price.
