Who we are

This website is run by GoodHands ("GoodHands", "we"). We provide moving help: crews who load, unload and carry while you rent the truck, trailer or container and do the driving. Questions about this policy or your information: hello@mygoodhands.org.

The move planner

• The planner runs in your browser. Your answers aren't sent to us unless you choose to send a crew request from the summary step (see below).
• If Save my answers on this device is on, your answers are kept in this browser's local storage so you can come back later. ZIP codes and notes are never saved there. Start over deletes the saved answers.
• Download summary creates a text file on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

When you send a crew request

You can send a request from the planner's summary step or from a city page. A request asks us to get back to you; it isn't a booking, and nothing is charged. When you send one, we store:

• Your name and email address, and your mobile number if you give it.
• The job: the service, your move date, the city and, if you give it, the ZIP code.
• From the planner: your answers about each place (type of place, stairs, elevator, carry distance and parking), the home size and how full it is, box and furniture counts, packing, your vehicle, the equipment you'd like, any heavy or specialty items, the rough crew and time range those answers produce, your notes, and any street addresses you type into the request form.
• A record of your agreement: the wording you agreed to and when.
• A scrambled form of your IP address (a salted one-way hash, not the address itself), used only to limit repeated submissions from one connection.

Why we use it: to reply to your request, confirm a crew, the time and the price, and, if you go ahead, do the job. We don't sell your information, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't share it with other moving or labor companies.

Who processes it for us:

• Cloudflare hosts this website, its database and our private request dashboard. Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person, not a bot, is sending the form; it processes your IP address and browser signals to do that.
• Resend delivers the email that tells us a new request has arrived. That email contains the details of your request.

How long we keep it: each request is deleted automatically 180 days after you send it, including from our dashboard. If you book a job with us, we keep what's needed to do the job and handle any follow-up, and no longer than the law requires. We'll delete a request sooner if you ask.

Payments

This website doesn't take payments or store card details. If that changes, we'll update this page first and name the payment provider.

Analytics and cookies

This site doesn't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. If we add measurement, it will record only page types, services, cities and planner steps, never move details or contact information, and we'll update this page first. The planner's saved answers live in your browser's local storage, which you control.

Fonts and images

Pages load fonts from Google Fonts and some photos from Unsplash's image service. Those providers receive your IP address and browser details when the files load, as with any website.

Your choices and rights

• See, correct or delete what you sent us: email hello@mygoodhands.org with the reference shown after you sent your request. We'll reply within 30 days.
• Stop hearing from us: reply to any email and say so. We only contact you about your request.
• Depending on your state, you may have further privacy rights. We'll honor any request we're required to, and we don't treat you differently for making one.

Children

This site is for adults arranging a move. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes

If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
