The crew

  • Carry furniture and boxes, including on stairs and in hallways
  • Load the truck or container tightly, with the weight balanced
  • Unload and put items in the right rooms
  • Pack and wrap, if you book packing
  • Take apart and put back together basic furniture, if agreed in advance

  • Rent the truck, trailer or portable container
  • Drive, buy fuel and return the vehicle
  • Get parking, permits and building or elevator reservations
  • Pack your boxes, unless you book packing
  • Move your own valuables, documents and medication

How it works

How to book moving labor.

  1. Describe your move

    Pick a service. Enter each address, the stairs and what's moving. You'll see how many helpers you need and how long it usually takes.

  2. Reserve your truck

    Rent the truck, trailer or container. Book street parking or elevator time if you need it.

  3. Book your crew

    You see the rate, minimum hours and terms before you confirm. Nothing is reserved until you book.

  4. The crew loads and unloads

    The crew comes to each address you booked and loads or unloads. You drive the truck.

  • We record stairs, parking and access for each address.
  • Moves between cities are two appointments. The same crew doesn't automatically travel with you.
  • If an address is outside our service area, you'll see that before you book.

Does GoodHands provide a truck?

No. GoodHands is moving labor only. You rent or own the truck, trailer or portable container and do the driving. The crew does the lifting, carrying, loading, unloading and packing.

Why would I hire labor instead of a full-service mover?

Renting your own truck or container and paying only for labor can cost less. You also control the timing. In return, you handle the truck and the driving.

Can you help at both my old and new address?

Yes. Each address is planned and confirmed as its own appointment. For moves between cities, the same crew may not work at both addresses.

Can I book today?

Yes. Describe your move in the planner and send a request. We'll email you to confirm the crew, time and price. Nothing is charged until you say yes.

Do you move pianos, safes or hot tubs?

We check each of these items before booking. Some need a specialist. List them when you describe your move.
