Moving labor

Hire moving help to load and unload your truck

A crew loads your truck at your old home and unloads it at your new one. You drive. Each address is booked separately.

Labor only. You rent the truck, trailer or container and drive it. The crew lifts, carries, loads and unloads. If you need help at two addresses, each one is booked separately.

What the crew handles

  • Loading at the starting address, with the full scope of the loading service
  • Unloading and placing items at the destination
  • Planning each address separately, with its own access details and time

What you arrange

  • The truck or container, and the driving between addresses
  • Arriving at the destination within the agreed window
  • Access, parking and building approvals at both addresses

Who it's for

  • Local moves where you drive the truck across town
  • Longer moves where you drive and need help when you arrive
  • Anyone who wants to plan both addresses at once

What gets confirmed before your move

These details change how long the job takes. We agree on them in writing before we schedule a crew.

  • Both addresses' access, like stairs, elevators, parking and carry distance
  • The drive time between them, and whether it's the same day
  • Whether each address is in a service area that's open for bookings
  • Whether the same crew can work at both addresses (local moves) or each address needs its own appointment (longer moves)

How to prepare

  • Allow enough drive time for truck pickup, fuel and breaks
  • Confirm parking and elevator reservations at both addresses
  • Label boxes by destination room so unloading goes fast
  • Keep your phone charged so you can tell the crew at the new address when you'll arrive

Equipment and materials

You provide

  • The truck or container for the whole move
  • Keys and access codes for both properties

Confirm when you book

  • Equipment at each address (it may differ if they're separate appointments)

What affects time and price

Labor is priced by time and crew size. We haven't published rates, minimums or fees yet. This list shows what changes the number of hours.

  • Access at two addressesA ground-floor house and a third-floor walk-up are very different jobs.
  • Time between addressesSame-day local moves may keep one crew. Longer drives mean separate appointments.
  • Coverage at each addressEach address must be in an open service area.
  • How well the truck is loadedA well-packed truck unloads faster.

Specialty and heavy items

Heavy or specialty items must be moved safely at both addresses, and access may differ at each one. List them once in the planner. We'll check them for both addresses.

We check pianos, safes, gym equipment, pool tables, hot tubs and anything over about 300 lb one at a time. Some may need a specialist.

Questions about loading and unloading

Is this one crew for the whole day?

Sometimes, for a short local move. Many moves are two separate appointments, one at each address. Your confirmation will say which.

What if my destination isn't in a covered area?

You can still plan loading at your old address. The planner shows which address we don't cover yet. You can then arrange help there yourself.

Do you count drive time?

We haven't set how time between addresses is billed. It will be in the booking terms. You drive either way.

Need help with loading and unloading?

Tell us about your move. We'll show how many helpers you need and for how long. Then send a request. We'll email you to confirm the time and price.
