What the crew handles

  • Moving furniture between rooms or floors in the same property
  • Clearing rooms for flooring, painting or renovation work, and moving things back
  • Basic disassembly so large pieces fit through doorways, when agreed in advance
  • Moving boxes to or from a garage, basement or storage room on site

What you arrange

  • A clear plan for where each piece goes
  • Access to every room and floor involved
  • Coordination with flooring or renovation contractors on timing

Who it's for

  • Homeowners getting new floors, carpet or paint who need rooms emptied and refilled
  • People rearranging a home, or setting it up for a sale or photos
  • Anyone moving a heavy piece up or down a staircase in the same building

What gets confirmed before your move

These details change how long the job takes. We agree on them in writing before we schedule a crew.

  • Every piece being moved, and where it starts and ends
  • Staircase width and turns, and the tightest doorway on the route
  • Whether you need one visit or two (out before the work, back in after)
  • Floor protection needs, especially on new or delicate floors

How to prepare

  • Empty drawers, shelves and cabinets on pieces being moved
  • Measure doorways and stair landings for your largest pieces
  • Take wall art and fragile decor off the walls along the route
  • Ask your contractor which rooms must be fully empty and by when

Equipment and materials

You provide

  • Floor protection for finished or newly installed floors, if needed
  • A plan or sketch of the final layout

Confirm when you book

  • Whether the crew brings furniture sliders, pads and a hand truck
  • Whether tools for disassembly are included

What affects time and price

Labor is priced by time and crew size. We haven't published rates, minimums or fees yet. This list shows what changes the number of hours.

  • Number of large piecesA few sofas and beds is quick. A whole floor of furniture takes longer.
  • Changing floorsMoving between floors, especially with tight turns, takes the most time.
  • One visit or twoMoving things out and back in usually means two appointments.
  • DisassemblyPieces that won't fit through a doorway whole need extra time.

Specialty and heavy items

Pianos, safes, aquariums and heavy cabinets can damage floors or need a specialist even inside one home. Describe them first so they can be reviewed.

We check pianos, safes, gym equipment, pool tables, hot tubs and anything over about 300 lb one at a time. Some may need a specialist.

Questions about in-home moving

Do I need a truck for this?

No. In-home moving stays within one property, so there's no vehicle involved.

Can the crew move things to my garage and back after new floors go in?

Yes. It's usually two short visits, one before the work and one after. Plan it as one job in the planner. Add the timing to your notes.

Will you move a piano up a flight of stairs?

Pianos are reviewed individually and may need a piano specialist. Tell us the type and the stairs involved.
