Peoria rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In Peoria, a right-of-way use permit from Public Works is required to put a dumpster or portable storage container (POD) on a city street or alley, and it costs $20 for every thirty days.
In Peoria, a dumpster or portable storage container on the city right-of-way needs a Public Works permit costing $20 for every thirty days, and it must sit at least fifty feet from an intersection or alley and ten feet from a fire hydrant; containers in a driveway or elsewhere on private property don't need that permit. The city code keeps trucks and trailers on residential streets only as long as reasonably needed to load or unload, though pickups and vans up to 235 inches long and 80 inches wide are exempt. In winter, parking on snow emergency routes is banned automatically once two inches have fallen and more is forecast.
