In Florence, the city code bars leaving a motor truck, recreational vehicle, semitrailer, truck tractor, trailer or similar vehicle parked at any time on a city street or public right-of-way, with an exception only for delivery or service trucks while they are working. The code defines a motor truck as a vehicle designed to carry freight or merchandise and a trailer as a freight trailer with a load capacity over 1,000 pounds, and no vehicle may be left unattended on a street for more than 24 hours. Parked vehicles must stay at least 38 feet from the center line of an intersection, 7 feet from a driveway and 15 feet from a hydrant, and during a declared snow emergency no vehicle may be left where it interferes with plowing or salting.
