Frankfort rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In Frankfort, a dumpster or storage pod placed in the city right-of-way must have a $25 Public Works permit, and a separate $25 temporary parking permit covers up to two spots for two weeks.
In Frankfort, the Public Works Department issues right-of-way permits for temporary parking and for dumpsters and storage pods, each $25 and good for two weeks, and a pod or dumpster in the right-of-way must be permitted. The traffic code limits campers, trailers, trucks and other vehicles over 7 feet wide, 20 feet long or 7.5 feet tall to two hours on city streets unless the Police Department or the city's parking operator issues a special permit, and it bars trucks over three-quarters of a ton capacity from standing on public streets except to load or unload. Parking in alleys is not allowed at any time, and once a snow emergency parking ban takes effect no vehicle may remain on a snow emergency route.
