Springfield rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In Springfield, no truck, tractor or trailer may be parked on any street between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m., and for this rule a truck is any vehicle more than 7 feet wide, 9 feet high or 20 feet long.
Springfield's traffic code bans parking trucks, tractors and trailers on any street overnight, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., and defines a truck for that rule by size: over 7 feet wide, 9 feet high or 20 feet long. Under the code's definition, standing while actually loading or unloading is not 'parking', but backing a vehicle to the curb to load needs a traffic engineer's permit outside signed reverse-angle stalls. Obstructions that hinder traffic in the public way are prohibited, and work in or next to the right-of-way that is expected to affect traffic needs a temporary traffic control permit.
