St. Louis rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In St. Louis, parking a moving truck, dumpster or storage container in a curb lane needs a Blocking Right of Way Permit from the Street Department, and the permit's "No Parking" signs must be posted 24 hours before the blocking.
In St. Louis, the Street Department issues a Blocking Right of Way Permit for any moving truck, dumpster or storage container that blocks a curb lane, sidewalk or traffic lane; apply at least a week ahead, blocking is allowed on weekdays between 9am and 3pm, and the permit's "No Parking" signs go up 24 hours before. The city code bars parking trucks and buses on public streets next to land in the "A" through "F" use zoning districts, and trailers can't be stored or parked on a street or alley without a permit unless they are loading or unloading. If snow is forecast, avoid snow routes, and if you must park on one, stay within 12 inches of the curb.
