Parking and permits

Las Vegas rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.

Key rule: In Las Vegas, a storage POD or a long-term spot for supplies on a city street goes through the city's Construction Parking Permit, Zone Variance and Meter Zone request, which needs a site plan, and an RV parked on a residential street for loading needs a free city permit good for up to 48 hours.

In the City of Las Vegas, city code restricts standing, parking or storing a commercial vehicle, RV, trailer or vehicle-trailer combination 24 feet or longer, or over 8,000 pounds unladen, on streets next to residence districts, schools and parks, with an exception for a commercial vehicle in front of the property while goods are being expeditiously loaded or unloaded. Storage PODs and supply deliveries can be covered by a Construction Parking Permit, Zone Variance or Meter Zone request with a site plan, RVs need a complimentary 48-hour permit to load on a residential street, and no vehicle may sit in the street for more than 72 consecutive hours. Handling boxes, crates and containers between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. is a listed noise disturbance when the noise crosses into residential property.
