Fargo rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In Fargo, trucks, trailers and commercial vehicles may not stay parked on a residential street for longer than one hour except long enough to finish loading or unloading cargo, and may not park on any city street between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
In Fargo, the city code limits trucks, trailers, semitrailers and commercial vehicles to one hour on residential streets, with an exception for the time needed to load or unload cargo, and bars them from parking on any street between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.; the code's definition of "commercial vehicle" leaves out vehicles rated under one ton. A dumpster or container in the right of way needs an application to the Engineering Department explaining why it can't go on private property, costs $100 per week per parking spot, and may only sit at locations already designated for parking. From November 1 to April 15 no vehicle may park on a snow emergency route, and during a declared snow emergency any vehicle left on the street can be fined $100.
