Key rule: In Grove City, a portable storage unit such as a POD may sit at a home for no more than five days per calendar year, on asphalt or concrete outside the right-of-way, and no permit is required.

In Grove City, the zoning code allows a portable storage unit at a home for no more than five days per calendar year without a permit, on an asphalt or concrete surface outside the right-of-way, at least six feet from property lines and no larger than 1,200 cubic feet inside. Trucks and trailers over 8,000 pounds may not be parked on residential lots or streets except while being loaded or unloaded diligently, and a trailer parked on a residential street under that section needs a high-visibility cone directly behind it. A snow emergency takes effect whenever two or more inches of snow falls, and parking on snow emergency routes is then limited to 30-minute stops to load or unload property.
