North Kingstown rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In North Kingstown, no boat, camper, trailer, recreational vehicle or similar vehicle may be parked on any street for more than 72 hours.
North Kingstown's town code limits boats, campers, trailers and recreational vehicles to 72 hours parked on any street. A portable storage container on private property needs a building official's permit unless it stays 30 days or less, is limited to one per dwelling unit and 8 by 20 by 8 feet, and should sit in the driveway rather than the public right-of-way where practical. When the director of public works declares emergency storm conditions, which automatically exist once an inch of snow accumulates on the roads, no parking is allowed on any town street and violators are towed.
