Parking and permits

Springdale rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.

Key rule: In Springdale, a commercial vehicle, which the city code defines to include any box truck with a fully enclosed cuboid-shaped cargo area, may not be parked or stored in a residentially zoned district or in the street right-of-way, except while performing a temporary service at the property or making a bona fide pickup or delivery.

In Springdale, City Code Section 114-56 bars commercial vehicles, defined in Section 114-57 to include any box truck, from being parked or stored in residential districts or the street right-of-way, with exceptions for temporary service at the property and bona fide pickups or deliveries. Trailers of any kind may be parked on a public street only while being loaded, readied for use or unloaded, and never longer than 24 hours, and residential street parking is limited to the curb next to the driver's own property or where the owner or occupant gives permission. Depositing material of any kind on a street requires permission from the chief city inspector.

Can I park a rental box truck on a residential street in Springdale?

Springdale's code counts any box truck (a truck with a fully enclosed cuboid-shaped cargo area) as a commercial vehicle, and Section 114-56 bars commercial vehicles from being parked or stored in residential districts or the street right-of-way. The ban does not apply to a commercial vehicle during the actual performance of a temporary service on the property, or to a vehicle making a bona fide pickup or delivery of property.

Only while it is actually being loaded, readied for use or unloaded, and never more than 24 hours (Section 114-57).

Where can the crew park on a Springdale residential street?

Section 114-58 limits residential street parking to the curb next to property owned or occupied by the driver, or elsewhere with the permission of that property's owner or occupant. Parking is also banned on the posted side of emergency access routes.

Do I need permission to put a storage container or materials in a Springdale street?

Section 110-3 makes it unlawful to deposit material of any kind on any street without permission of the chief city inspector.

Can I keep a trailer in my driveway in Springdale?
