Parking and permits

Fayetteville rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.

Key rule: In Fayetteville, trucks, tractors and trailers with a capacity over one ton, along with motorhomes, RVs, fifth-wheel trailers and camper trailers, may not be parked on any city street between midnight and 6 a.m.

In Fayetteville, City Code Section 72.15 bars trucks, tractors and trailers with a capacity over one ton, and RVs and camper trailers, from city streets between midnight and 6 a.m., and no vehicle may stay at one street location for more than 14 consecutive days. In the Entertainment District, Downtown Business District and Wilson Park South permit parking areas, a vehicle that cannot fit in a standard parking space needs a special limited time and location permit, which the code says may be issued to a moving van serving a residence in the Entertainment District. Vehicles, trailers and boats may not be parked on the sidewalk or greenspace part of the street right-of-way, and the University of Arkansas posts its own residence hall move-in and closing dates.
