Parking and permits

Greenwich rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.

Key rule: In Greenwich, no vehicle may be parked on a street or other town-regulated public property for longer than 24 consecutive hours, and each extra hour counts as a separate offense.

Greenwich bars vehicles bearing the plate types listed in Schedule XXF from residential-zone streets between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. if they are over 8 feet high, 18 feet long or 7 feet wide or have more than four wheels down, unless they are serving the nearest residence. No vehicle may stay on a street longer than 24 consecutive hours, and placing an obstruction on a street or sidewalk needs the Chief of Police's consent. Snow routes are in effect from November 1 to April 15, and vehicles left in a declared ban area can be towed.
