Parking and permits

Clearwater rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.

Key rule: In Clearwater, a hauling trailer or commercial vehicle may sit on a street next to residential property for loading or unloading only if the job is fully done within six hours and happens no more than four times a month at the same spot.

In Clearwater, city code bars parking boats, hauling trailers, travel trailers, semitrailer trucks and commercial vehicles on a street next to residential-zoned property, but loading or unloading (other than by semitrailer trucks) is allowed if finished within six hours and done no more than four times a month at the same location. A portable storage unit is allowed at a residence four times a year for up to four days each, without a permit if the code's standards are met, and must come off the property at least 24 hours before predicted 75 mph winds. While a hurricane warning is in effect, parking on city streets is limited to 30 minutes.
