St. Petersburg rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In St. Petersburg, a portable storage unit (PODS-style container) goes in the street only when the driveway or lot can't take it, and one placed in the street must be removed within seven days or the city may remove it at the owner's expense.
In St. Petersburg, a portable storage unit (PSU) belongs on the driveway, an approved parking area or the buildable part of the lot, and may go in the street only when the property physically can't take it; a street PSU must sit in a legal parking area next to the property, carry reflectors, and be removed within seven days. Residential PSUs are limited to seven days per event and four events per dwelling per year, and all PSUs must be removed at least 24 hours before predicted winds of 75 mph or more. City code bans parking commercial equipment, which includes vehicles with exterior commercial advertising, in the street next to residential property, and limits domestic equipment such as utility trailers.
