Parking and permits

Idaho Falls rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.

Key rule: In Idaho Falls, a motorhome or trailer may be parked on a street or alley for loading and unloading for no more than two 24-hour periods in any 7-day period.

In Idaho Falls, City Code Section 9-4-5 limits a motorhome or trailer parked on a street or alley for loading and unloading to two 24-hour periods in any 7 days, and moving it less than 300 feet does not reset the clock. Vehicles over 10,000 pounds gross vehicle weight may park in residential districts only as needed to load or unload expeditiously, other operable vehicles are limited to 48 consecutive hours in one spot, and alley loading requires 10 feet of clearance on each side. From November 14 to March 15, a Snow Event of more than 2 inches bans parking of vehicles and trailers on Zone B streets from midnight until snow removal is complete.
