Meridian rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In Meridian, vehicles with a GVWR over 12,000 pounds may not park on a public street at any time except in the cases the code allows, such as while materials or merchandise are actively being loaded or unloaded within 100 feet of the loading point.
In Meridian, City Code Section 7-2-5 limits vehicles under 12,000 pounds GVWR, motor homes, RVs and utility trailers to 72 hours on a public street, and bars vehicles over 12,000 pounds GVWR at any time except in listed cases such as active loading or unloading within 100 feet. These limits do not apply where a valid City of Meridian or Ada County Highway District permit allows the parking, and ACHD requires a Temporary Use Permit for work in the public right-of-way. Alley loading is limited to 30 minutes, and ACHD plows residential streets after main roads and school bus routes.
