Boise rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In Boise, a trailer, storage container or drop box may not sit in a street parking space for more than 72 consecutive hours unless a permit from the Ada County Highway District or another entity with jurisdiction allows it.
In Boise, the city code bars leaving a trailer, storage container or drop box in a street parking space for more than 72 consecutive hours without an Ada County Highway District (or other) permit, and ACHD requires a Temporary Use Permit for work in the public right-of-way. Commercial vehicles over 8,000 pounds gross weight capacity are limited to two hours on residential streets except while loading or unloading, alley loading is capped at 20 minutes, and non-permit vehicles in residential e-permit areas are held to the posted time. In winter, ACHD plows residential streets after main roads and school bus routes.
