Parking and permits

Mishawaka rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.

Key rule: In Mishawaka, trailers and commercial vehicles may not park overnight on any city street.

Mishawaka's traffic code bars trailers and commercial vehicles (defined as vehicles used mainly to carry property or passengers for hire) from parking overnight on city streets, and parked vehicles must leave ten feet of roadway open and not block driveways in alleys. Marked freight loading zones allow stops of up to 30 minutes. In winter, a declared snow emergency clears snow routes, and a residential emergency brings alternate-side parking on other streets; streets barricaded for cleaning must be cleared of parked vehicles within 12 hours.
