Frederick rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In Frederick, trucks over 8 feet wide, 8 feet tall or 22 feet long, and all trailers, may not be parked on a residential street except while loading or unloading freight or passengers.
In Frederick, City Code Section 13-23 bans vehicles over 8 feet wide, 8 feet tall or 22 feet long, along with trailers and semitrailers, from residential streets, but exempts vehicles parked to load or unload freight or passengers. Taking over a parking lane, lane or sidewalk counts as a temporary street closure, which needs an Engineering Department permit filed at least 14 days ahead, may require no-parking signs, and needs 48 hours' notice to Public Works. During a declared snow emergency the police chief can restrict parking, and vehicles blocking snow emergency routes can be removed.
