Taunton rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In Taunton, trucks, trailers, tractors, tractor-trailers and campers may not be parked on any city street between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., so a rental truck or trailer has to be off the street overnight.
Taunton's traffic ordinance bans parking trucks, trailers and campers on any street from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., with a $50 fine, and a truck that stops where it could block traffic to load or unload needs a license from the Chief of Police unless it is in an unrestricted or official parking space. A car, trailer or dumpster left obstructing a street must be moved when the Mayor or police order it. When the Mayor declares a snow parking prohibition, no vehicle may stay parked on affected streets and police can tag and tow, and monthly passes for some municipal lots are sold at the police station.
