Parking and permits

Eastpointe rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.

Key rule: In Eastpointe, a portable moving container or roll-off dumpster needs a permit, must sit on an improved driveway surface rather than in the public right-of-way, and may stay up to 14 days.

Eastpointe's zoning code requires a permit for portable moving and storage containers and roll-off dumpsters, which must sit on an improved driveway surface outside the public right-of-way for no more than 14 days unless extended. Semi-trailer trucks, tractors and trailers over the code's size limits may not park on public roads except while loading or unloading, and commercial vehicles may park only temporarily, never overnight, on residential streets. During a declared snow emergency, no one may park on any street, starting one hour after the declaration.
