Minnetonka rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In Minnetonka, no vehicle may be parked on a public street between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m., and no vehicle may stay parked in one place on a street for more than 6 hours, so a rental truck has to be off the street overnight.
In Minnetonka, street parking is banned from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. and capped at 6 hours in one place, and a house trailer may not be left on a street for more than six hours. A dumpster or other object on the paved street needs a permit from the city engineer, while a portable storage container at a home must sit on a paved or graveled driveway as far from the street as reasonably possible, for up to 30 consecutive days and must come from a city-licensed provider. Heavy trucks (weight class G through T) are limited to two hours in residential zones, though trucks used by a moving company actually servicing a residence are exempt from those outside parking rules.
