Columbia rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In Columbia, a vehicle or trailer may not be left standing on a street, alley or public place for longer than 24 hours, and police or parking enforcement can have it removed after that.
Columbia's traffic code bars leaving any motor vehicle or trailer standing on a street for more than 24 hours, and it bans parking on a roadway mainly to store a detached trailer. Placing any article or thing in a street, curb or sidewalk is a misdemeanor unless it is specifically authorized, and closing a parking lane, street or sidewalk for a construction project takes a Public Works permit with a $50 application fee. Once two inches of snow are on a signed snow route, it becomes a no-parking tow-away zone.
