Parking and permits

Princeton rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.

Key rule: In Princeton, no vehicle may park on any municipally controlled street for more than one hour between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m., unless the code provides otherwise.

Princeton's code still carries separate chapters from the former borough and township. Across municipally controlled streets, no vehicle may park for more than an hour between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m., and on township streets commercial vehicles over 6,000 pounds, boats, campers and trailers may not park in those hours at all. Snow rules differ by area: borough streets ban parking from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. once snow covers the street, while township streets ban parking during a declared snow emergency. Under the construction-site rules, curbside dumpster permits last up to 10 days and dumpsters are barred from streets December 1 to March 31.
