Santa Fe rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In Santa Fe, placing any obstruction such as a storage container on a city street requires a $100 Public Works permit, and trucks of 5 tons or more are barred from a list of named streets unless they are serving or moving into an address there.
In Santa Fe, anyone who wants to place an obstruction on a public street, alley or way must get a Public Works permit, which carries a $100 fee and requires warning lights at both ends from sundown to sunup. Trucks, trailers and other large vehicles of 5 tons or more are barred from a list of named streets, with exceptions for vehicles serving addresses there or locating at them. Residents of permit-required neighborhoods need residential parking permits to park on the street, on-street meters can be reserved for $30 per meter per day plus a $25 fee with at least 72 hours' notice, and in winter the city plows major streets before smaller residential ones.
