Parking and permits

Hamburg rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.

Key rule: In Hamburg, parking within the right-of-way of Town and county roads is banned from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. every night from November 1 through the end of winter.

These rules come from the Town of Hamburg government's Town Code and Highway Department; the villages of Hamburg and Blasdell have their own rules. Each winter starting November 1, parking within the right-of-way of Town and county roads is banned from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m., police may tow vehicles that must be moved for snow removal, and the Town isn't responsible for plow damage to vehicles in its right-of-way. Storage trailers, which the code defines to include large vans, can't be used for long-term storage, and a temporary permit is only available for properties under construction.
