Parking and permits

Cincinnati rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.

Key rule: In Cincinnati, putting a dumpster in the public right-of-way needs a city permit, and ordinary solid waste dumpsters are not allowed in the right-of-way at all.

In Cincinnati, placing a dumpster in the public right-of-way needs a permit from the Department of Transportation and Engineering; solid waste dumpsters must stay on private property, while construction and demolition roll-offs may sit in the right-of-way only temporarily with an open street permit. Some residential permit-parking zones offer temporary and visitor permits. During a declared Parking Snow Emergency, cars left on signed routes can be ticketed and towed, and the city asks residents to move vehicles on their scheduled street-sweeping day.
