Washington rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In Washington, goods being received or delivered may not stay on a sidewalk for more than two hours, and a foot passageway must be left open while they are there.
Washington City's code lets goods being received or delivered sit on a sidewalk for no more than two hours, with a foot passageway left open, and boxes or other things that would obstruct a street, gutter or sidewalk may not be placed in the city right-of-way. No vehicle may stay on a street or alley for more than 48 consecutive hours, and moving it and reparking on the same block face within 24 hours doesn't reset the clock. Semitrucks and commercial-transport trailers may park on city streets only while delivering, for two hours at most, and parking is barred on streets narrower than 20 feet and on the south or east side of streets 20 to 30 feet wide.
