Huntington rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In Huntington, a truck or trailer with a gross vehicle weight rating over 16,000 pounds may park on a public street only while loading or unloading, and only while its operator stays with it.
Huntington's traffic code allows a truck or trailer rated over 16,000 pounds gross vehicle weight on a public street only while it is loading or unloading and attended by its operator, and no vehicle may stay parked on a street or alley for more than 48 consecutive hours. Parked vehicles must leave at least ten feet of roadway open, alley stops are limited to 30 minutes of loading, and business-district parking is barred from 2 to 6 a.m. except for loading with the driver present. Building material in a street needs a written permit from the director of public works, while freight set on a sidewalk for immediate loading or unloading is exempt from the sidewalk-obstruction rule.
