Parking and permits

Fresno rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.

Key rule: In Fresno, city code limits any vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating of 12,000 pounds or more to four hours on a public street, but exempts attended vehicles making pickups or deliveries for the time needed, up to 12 hours.

In Fresno, a vehicle with a manufacturer's gross vehicle weight rating of 12,000 pounds or more counts as a "Semi" and may not be kept on a public street for more than four hours, except while attended and making pickups or deliveries, for no more than 12 hours. City code also says non-motorized vehicles may not be parked or stored on residential streets, and parking that interferes with street sweeping is prohibited, though commercial vehicles making deliveries on the street are exempt. Encroaching on a public right-of-way requires an encroachment permit, and alleys are for loading and unloading only.
