Parking and permits

Wellington rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.

Key rule: In Wellington, a portable storage unit placed in the front or side corner of a property may stay no more than seven calendar days, with at most two such placements per year.

Wellington's land development code lets a portable storage unit sit in the front or side corner of a property for no more than seven calendar days, twice a year, on the driveway, an approved parking area or the buildable part of the lot and never in the right-of-way. The village code bars commercial vehicles and trailers from public streets and rights-of-way, and on residential property limits commercial vehicles to one hour between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. and none overnight, with an exception for deliveries and service calls. Its commercial-vehicle definition turns on business use, lettering and size.
