Gainesville rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In Gainesville, no one may block or otherwise impair the use of a public street without first getting permission from the governing body, and each day a street is blocked counts as a separate offense.
Gainesville's code requires permission from the governing body before anyone blocks or impairs a public street, and the public works director can issue special permits for backing a vehicle to the curb to load or unload. Parking in front of a driveway is not allowed except momentarily, trucks may be barred from signed streets except to reach a delivery or pickup, and freight loading zone stops are capped at 30 minutes. Where paid parking zones apply, the first two hours are free and a parking session must be started within five minutes.
