Key rule: In Marion, a truck, trailer or other vehicle wider than 72 inches or longer than 18 feet may park on a street or alley for no more than 60 minutes in daytime or 30 minutes at night, except while it is being loaded or unloaded.
In Marion, City Code § 313-10.8 limits trucks, trailers and motor homes over 72 inches wide or 18 feet long to 60 minutes on a street or alley by day and 30 minutes at night, except while loading or unloading, and the Chief of Police can grant a temporary waiver for a special need; pickups and light or panel delivery trucks are exempt. No vehicle may sit on public property for more than 48 hours, and placing goods on a street for storage or putting a private encroachment in the right-of-way is barred without city permission.
