Parking and permits

Atlantic City rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.

Key rule: In Atlantic City, trucks, trailers and buses of 8,000 pounds or more may not park on any public street from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Atlantic City bans trucks, trailers, buses and boats from public streets and city property from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m., though vehicles under 8,000 pounds are exempt (boats and boat trailers are not), and no vehicle over 8,000 pounds may park on residential property. In the residential permit zones, street parking is limited to three consecutive hours without a resident or guest permit, guest permits last up to three days, and commercial vehicles may not stay overnight. Some streets have a June 15 to September 30 parking ban, and when snow covers the road, both sides of the listed snow-emergency streets must be clear.
