Winslow Township allows a temporary outdoor storage unit such as a POD on a residential lot only with a township permit, one per lot, for up to 60 consecutive days in six months; it must sit on a hard base, at least 10 feet back from the right-of-way if in the driveway, and never in the street. Trucks over four tons gross vehicle weight, buses, RVs, campers, boats and trailers can't park on township streets. When snow covers the road, an emergency exists and parking is banned on the streets listed in the snow section of the code.

Winslow Township moving questions

Do I need a permit for a POD in Winslow Township?

Yes. On a residential lot, a temporary outdoor storage unit may be placed only after a permit has been applied for and issued. Only one unit is allowed per lot, for no more than 60 consecutive days in any six-month period.

Where can the storage container go?

Not in the street or right-of-way. It must sit on a lawfully installed concrete, asphalt, gravel or stone base, and if it is in a front driveway it must be at least 10 feet from the right-of-way without blocking a sidewalk or access.

Can I park a trailer or truck on a Winslow street?

Trailers, buses, recreational vehicles, campers and boats may not park on any township street, and neither may trucks over four tons gross vehicle weight.

Once snow covers the street, an emergency exists and no vehicles may be parked on the streets listed in § 276-9 of the township code.
