Parking and permits

Camden rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.

Key rule: In Camden, a portable storage container (POD) can never be placed or unloaded on a city street or right-of-way; it must go on a driveway, parking lot or side or rear yard, and moving use is capped at 30 days per dwelling unit in a 360-day period.

Camden keeps portable storage containers off its streets entirely: a POD for a move needs a Department of Code Enforcement permit ($69 a month), must sit on an approved parking area such as a driveway, and can stay no more than 30 days per dwelling unit in a 360-day period. Trailers may not be parked on city streets at any time, and trucks with more than two axles and four tires are barred from street parking overnight. In residential permit parking zones, vehicles without a permit are limited to one hour during posted hours.
