Parking and permits

Mint Hill rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.

Key rule: In Mint Hill, the town's development ordinance prohibits temporarily parking or storing trailers, motor vehicles or recreational vehicles between the street property line and the building setback line in residential areas, except automobiles on a dust-free driveway.

Mint Hill's Unified Development Ordinance keeps trailers and recreational vehicles out of the front setback area in residential neighborhoods, allowing only automobiles there on a dust-free driveway, and says trailers belong in the rear yard or behind the front building line. On town streets posted for no construction traffic, large three-axle commercial vehicles need a temporary permit from the public works director. Parking is barred where no-parking signs are posted, with a $50 civil penalty.
