West Chester rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In West Chester, an oversized vehicle (10,000 pounds GVW or more) or an unattached trailer may not be parked on a borough street without prior approval from the Borough Parking Department, except while it is loading or unloading.
In West Chester, oversized vehicles of 10,000 pounds GVW or more and unattached trailers need prior approval from the Borough Parking Department to park on a street, unless they are loading or unloading. It is unlawful to block the traveled section of a street by placing or storing goods, vehicles or other items there, and the noise code bars handling boxes, crates and containers between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. in a way that creates unreasonable noise. On listed snow routes, parking is automatically prohibited once snow reaches four inches.
