Anderson rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In Anderson, any vehicle over eight and a half feet tall or 25 feet long, including trucks, vans and trailers, counts as an oversized commercial vehicle and may not be parked in residential areas unless stored in a garage or fully enclosed opaque structure.
In Anderson, City Code Sec. 82-124 treats any truck, van, trailer or similar vehicle over eight and a half feet tall or 25 feet long as an oversized commercial vehicle, bars parking one in residential areas unless it is stored in a garage or fully enclosed structure, and limits stops on public streets to deliveries or freight pickups for businesses with no other access. Obstructing a public street, sidewalk or other public place for any purpose requires the consent of city council, and the public streets may not be used to store vehicles. On private residential lots, the zoning code keeps campers, recreational vehicles and recreational equipment behind the front line of the house, but allows them anywhere on the premises for up to 24 hours during loading and unloading.
