Greenville rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In Greenville, a vehicle over 85 inches tall, over 250 inches long or rated above two tons counts as oversized and may be parked on a street for no more than two hours, except while loading or unloading, which may never exceed 24 hours.
In Greenville, the city code limits oversized vehicles (over 85 inches high, over 250 inches long or rated above two tons) to two hours on a street or public right-of-way, with longer stops allowed only for loading or unloading and never past 24 hours. Putting a POD or other temporary storage container on a sidewalk or street requires a city permit, and a street blockage in a residential area must leave at least ten feet of travel width in each direction. In permit parking districts, temporary permits cost $10, must be requested at least 48 hours ahead and last up to three days, and district permits do not cover larger trucks or detached trailers.
