Mount Pleasant rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.
Key rule: In Mount Pleasant, only one portable storage unit is allowed per site, no larger than 8 feet wide, 16 feet long and 8 feet high, and it may stay no more than 60 days in a calendar year unless there is construction under a valid building permit.
In the Town of Mount Pleasant, the zoning code allows one portable storage unit per site, up to 8 by 16 by 8 feet, for no more than 60 days a year outside of permitted construction, and in residential districts it goes in the driveway unless the rear of the site is readily accessible. Once a hurricane watch is issued, every portable storage unit must be removed right away or secured to withstand winds over 100 mph. In residential areas only one commercial vehicle, such as a standard van, SUV or pickup, may be parked or stored outside, and larger commercial vehicles such as delivery trucks and business trailers are prohibited there.
