Parking and permits

Edinburg rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.

Key rule: In Edinburg, city code bars parking a truck, trailer or other motor vehicle with a gross weight of 10,000 pounds or more on a street that abuts residentially zoned property.

Edinburg's parking code bars trucks, trailers and other motor vehicles with a gross weight of 10,000 pounds or more from streets that abut residential zoning, and while those vehicles also may not be parked on residentially zoned property, that rule allows expeditious loading and unloading of freight or merchandise. Any vehicle is limited to 24 consecutive hours in one spot, special vehicles such as utility trailers may not be parked or stored on a public street, and alley parking is prohibited. Trucks off the designated truck routes must be there for pickup or delivery and return to the route by the most direct practical means.
