New Braunfels moving questions
Do I need a permit for a PODS container in New Braunfels?
No. City zoning code says a permit is not required for temporary storage pods. Pods up to 8 feet wide, 8 feet high and 16 feet long may stay on residential or non-residential property for up to 60 days to accommodate relocations, remodels, changes in occupancy or similar activity. Another zoning section sets a shorter limit, so confirm the allowed time with the city before move day.
Where can a moving pod go at a New Braunfels home?
On a paved surface or in the driveway. Only if the property's topography or layout makes that impossible may the pod be placed in the right-of-way against the curb, the same as parking a car.
Can a rental moving trailer sit on a New Braunfels street while we load?
Only briefly. City code makes it unlawful to leave a trailer or semitrailer parked or standing on any public street for more than 30 continuous minutes without authority from the chief of police.
Can a large moving truck park on a New Braunfels residential street?
City code bars parking a commercial motor vehicle rated over 8,000 pounds, or any commercial trailer, on streets in residential districts, but the rule does not prevent a commercial vehicle that is expeditiously loading or unloading passengers or picking up or delivering goods. The owner of an oversized vehicle may get a police permit to park for up to 24 hours in any seven-day period.
Are there permit-only parking streets in New Braunfels?
Yes. In designated permit areas such as Area A, parking without a valid city permit is barred from 8 a.m. to midnight from March 1 through October 31. A non-resident commercial or service vehicle with identifying signs or markings, used while the operator is working, is treated as having a permit.
