Parking and permits

Scottsdale rules for moving trucks, trailers and containers.

Key rule: In Scottsdale, city code bars parking any vehicle over 22 feet long on a residential street or alley except while loading, unloading, delivering or making a service call at a residence.

In Scottsdale, vehicles longer than 22 feet, and commercially registered trucks rated over one ton, may be parked on residential streets and alleys only while loading, unloading, delivering or making a service call. City code also bans storing a vehicle or trailer on a street or other public property, with "store" meaning parked more than 72 consecutive hours, and any activity that restricts the public right-of-way needs an approved barricade plan first. The city sets permit parking zones by sign, and it advises limiting outdoor activity between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. in extreme heat.
